This September, join FIND Food Bank and our 200 Feeding America partner food banks across the country for the annual nationwide campaign to spread awareness and engage the public in the movement to end hunger. In every community in America, people are working hard to provide for themselves and their families; yet in 2022, 44 million people—1 in 7 people—experienced food insecurity. In our Coachella Valley, 1 in 6 people experience food insecurity, and the unemployment rate is more than double the national average. This is why FIND Food Bank, the Desert’s Regional Food Bank, is calling on the community for support during Hunger Action Month.

Leave no local hungry

Record high inflation at the gas pump and grocery stores is dragging on longer than expected, pushing more working people into food bank lines. FIND Food Bank helps feed 125,000 people each month struggling to make ends meet, and they need you to take action to Leave No Local Hungry.

Everyone has the power to make an impact…

It all starts with one action:

Host a Virtual Food Drive!

Start a fundraising page online and ask your organization, workplace, or friends and family to donate to end hunger!

While supply chain issues continue and transportation costs increase, donating funds over food is the most effective way to help FIND provide hunger-relief.

Go Orange!

Orange is the color of hunger awareness because it stands out when hunger does not. Too often, our neighbors skip meals in silence to cover their rent, pay for medicine, or keep the electricity on—but that is unacceptable.

In 2024, there are nine cities in the Coachella Valley and two cities in the Hi-Desert Morongo Basin region that are committed to leaving no local hungry in their neighborhoods. To bring attention to the injustice of hunger in our communities, each Coachella Valley city lit up their City Hall, a central monument, or another city staple orange.

Take a picture of the community buildings lit up orange, wear orange, and keep advocating for our locals facing food insecurity!
