FIND Food Bank, as the desert’s regional food bank, provides millions of pounds of food to partner agencies, including local senior centers.
Penny’s Pantry, located in the Joslyn Senior Center in Palm Desert, is one of FIND’s agencies providing free food and resources to the senior community.
Since its inception in 2011, Penny’s Pantry continues to provide fresh produce and non-perishable food to thousands of low-income seniors each year. The pantry is open from 7:30 – 9:30 AM on the first and third Friday of each month and serves the Cove Community (Indian Wells, Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage) residents, age 50+. The pantry also offers a “Farmer’s Market” on the second and fourth Friday of every month — giving seniors access to fresh fruits and vegetables.
As the food and produce supplier of agencies like Penny’s Pantry, FIND Food Bank continues the fight to end food insecurity for seniors.
