Desert Care Network 2026 Healthy Over Hunger Cereal Drive

The hospitals of Desert Care Network are proud to support FIND’s summer food programs for schoolchildren through our annual Healthy Over Hungry© Cereal Drive. This initiative started with one nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, who noticed young patients often lost access to school-based food programs during the summer. The Cereal Drive was born and eventually expanded across the nation. In the Coachella Valley, 84% of students qualify for free and reduced-price meals – an indicator of the need here at home. Our three hospitals each host a drive and our friendly competition results in one hospital taking home the Cereal Drive trophy.
We encourage all our patients, friends and family to help us meet the need. Bins are located in each hospital lobby to collect healthy cereal. Anyone can drop off cereal donations to any of the 3 hospitals beginning June 8 and ending on June 18. Or, you can donate dollars to help FIND purchase the other elements of a healthy breakfast. Pick one of our hospitals to help them win the trophy… or donate to all three because the kids are the ones who benefit the most!
