Kids Summer Market

FIND’s Kids Summer Market is back on May 18th 2023!

Kid’s Summer Market is a 10-week long program to fill in the meal gaps for students while they’re on summer vacation. About 86% of public school students in the Coachella Valley qualify for free and reduced-price meals, a national indicator of food insecurity. When school gets out for the summer more kids are missing out on meals they might have relied on to get through the day.

FIND’s 43 Mobile Market locations distribute healthy, kid-friendly food and snacks in addition to a week’s worth of balanced groceries to feed the whole family.

$25 can provide over 100 meals to ensure no child or family goes hungry this summer.

Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, FIND’s Kid’s Summer Club offered a Farmer’s Market Style distribution for kids to walk up and choose the fruits and vegetables they wanted to take home. FIND’s staff provided nutrition education, emphasizing the importance of fruits, vegetables, and a balanced plate to one’s mental and physical health; not only ending hunger for today but ensuring children are set up with the tools to nourish themselves tomorrow.
